Learning, Believing, Achieving
About Woolavington Village Primary
Woolavington joined CAT in January 2014 shortly after its predecessor school was placed into Special Measures. Strong end of Key Stage 2 results in 2016 left the school feeling confident about its future. The school meets the government’s current floor standard which sets the minimum expectations for pupils’ attainment and progress.
The current leadership team are committed to continuing the school’s transformation and in September 2016, Ofsted recognised that the leadership of the school was good and well placed to continue the school’s journey of rapid improvement.
Woolavington Village is smaller than the average-sized primary school with 181 children on roll including the school’s nursery. This means there is a very caring, supportive, family ethos to the school that is now underpinned by higher expectations of what each child can achieve. The proportion of pupils eligible for the pupil premium is broadly in line with national.
Parents and children are both assets to the school. They understand why the changes that have been made were necessary and are supportive of the school’s direction.
Following the last Ofsted inspection, the school was judged to be Good in early years education, leadership and management and pupil development, behaviour and welfare. The improvements already made to teaching and learning were also recognised.
The head of school has built a team of effective leaders. Collectively, they are committed to providing the best education for pupils and raising standards even further.
